プロのヒント

If you are considering moving to Hawaii, calculate your take-home pay using actual Hawaii tax rates and then compare it to the cost of living. A mainland salary of $80,000 might need to be $120,000-$140,000 in Hawaii to maintain the same lifestyle. Also, if you are in the military, carefully evaluate whether maintaining your current state of residency or switching to Hawaii provides a better tax outcome, as Hawaii's rates can cost thousands more annually compared to no-tax states.

ご存知でしたか?

Hawaii was the first state in the United States to mandate employer-provided health insurance through the Prepaid Health Care Act of 1974. This pioneering law required all employers to provide health insurance to employees working 20 or more hours per week, more than 35 years before the federal Affordable Care Act. As a result, Hawaii consistently has one of the lowest uninsured rates of any state and one of the healthiest populations. The mandatory health insurance, combined with TDI and the 12-bracket income tax, gives Hawaii one of the most comprehensive but also most expensive payroll systems for workers in the country.
