Titration is an analytical technique to determine the unknown concentration of a solution by reacting it with a solution of known concentration (the titrant) until the reaction is complete (the equivalence point), signalled by a colour change indicator.

Trinn-for-trinn guide

  1. 1Fill burette with titrant of known concentration (Ca)
  2. 2Add measured volume of analyte (Va) to flask with indicator
  3. 3Add titrant drop by drop until colour changes (endpoint)
  4. 4Record titrant volume used (Vb)
  5. 5Cb = Ca × Va / Vb (for 1:1 stoichiometry)

Inndata
0.1M HCl 25mL titrated against NaOH · endpoint at 20mL
Resultat
NaOH concentration = 0.125M
0.1×25/20=0.125M
