Frailty and Goals of Care
CFS assessment should not be used in isolation to withdraw or withhold treatment. CFS ≥7 indicates high risk but some severely frail patients with acute reversible illness (e.g., sepsis from UTI) will survive and return to their previous level of function. How does CFS differ from physical frailty phenotype (Fried criteria)?
