Why was race removed from the 2021 CKD-EPI equation?

What is the normal eGFR by age?
eGFR declines naturally with age at approximately 1 mL/min/1.73 m² per year after age 40, due to progressive nephron loss and reduced renal reserve. What should I do if my eGFR is below 60?
A single low eGFR should be repeated after 3 months. If persistently below 60, you have CKD by definition. Management depends on stage and the presence of proteinuria or other markers.
